DESCRIPTION

Imperial Gallac D Mainz Imperial Gallic "D" from Mainz This iron and bronze helm was used by troops hailing from Mainz and in my opionion is one of the most impressive ones.
Imperial Gallac G Imperial Gallic "G" This is one of the standard helmets you'll see around the Empire.
Imperial Gallac I Mainz Imperial Gallic "I" from Mainz Another all bronze version from Mainz.  Combined with bronze armour and polished to shine - it was said that an entire Legion could shine like the Sun-God.  This was later adopted by a Centurion in the Holy Roman Empire.
Elaborate Roman Helm Imperial Elaborate Helm For the wealthy and tasteful Roman officer, why not flaunt it?!
Imperial Centurion Gallac G Imperial Centurion Gallic "G' This dark haired Centurion's helmet was used by a Centurion in the Praetorian Guard.  Black and purple are acceptable colours for Praetorian Centurions in the Holy Roman Empire
Imperial Centurion Gallac H Imperial Centurion Gallic "H" The classic red-haired Centurion helm.  This is the only colour allowed by non-Praetorian Centurions.  White is reserved for special honours.
Imperial Praetorian Gallac H Imperial Praetorian Gallic "H" This is the classic Praetorian's helm.  Unlike other Legionairies, all Praetorians had crests to symbolize their special position!  Only black and purple are allowed, your Legion's Centurion will tell you your Legio colour - so check in advance!
Imperial Gallac Special Command Imperial Gallic Special Command Only the most heroic could ever dare to wear this helm...it signifies that the wearer is no ordinary trooper.  This is the helm of Comitatus or Imperial Field Army.
Imperial Gallac G Special Command Imperial Gallic "G" Special Command The leader of the Comitatus (ie. the Imperator) wears this helm to signify instantly where he is and who he is on the field.  Centurions wear similar coloured crests, but on the horizontal bar.
Imperial Gallac Special Command Replica of Maximus' Gladitorial Helm This helm is displayed just to let you know it is not allowed in the Holy Roman Empire!  First it holds no place in the army, secondly the design makes the piece unsafe.  Feel free to purchase it as a collector's item though!

Shields

PICTURE NAME DESCRIPTION
Rectangular Scutum Scutum, Rectangular This is the large shield used be the Roman Legion for centuries.  When overlapped they formed the tetsudo formation or shield wall.  They employed a single verticle grip to allow more freedom of movement.
Oval Scutum Scutum, Oval Originally exclusively in use by the Praetorian Guard, it became widespread after the Guard's disbandment.  However, in the Holy Roman Empire, only the Praetorians may use the Oval Scutum (painted either dark purple or black).  Again, this serves to seperate them visually from the rest of the army.

Armour

As soon as I finish my leather armour and get some better pics of Roman chain and scale mail, I'll post them here.  However, if you have pics - please send them to me, but make sure they are small files!!  Having an actual picture is better - I can scan those in without dealing with eMail!!!

PICTURE NAME DESCRIPTION
Legionairre Lorica Segmentata The standard armour worn by the Roman Legions was made of overlapping metal plates.  They were afixed by a series of leather thread that could be undone to make the armour easier to travel with.  All Legionairres will be expected to at some point own a set of Lorica Segmentata unless thier Darkonian class forbids metal armour.  Arrangements can be made for purchase and payment plans so don't think you can't afford it!  We will are willing to do whatever it takes to get you in your own suit of lorica!
Muscle Cuirass Muscle Cuirass Originally exclusively in use by the Praetorian Guard, it became widespread after the Guard's disbandment.  However, in the Holy Roman Empire, only the Praetorians may use the Oval Scutum (painted either dark purple or black).  Again, this serves to seperate them visually from the rest of the army.
